Senior Project Fire Explorers
The Training Division, in collaboration with the Winters High School, participates in a six month program for high school seniors and their senior projects by providing an introductory firefighting training program to prepare seniors that may be interested in a firefighting career. The program is designed to give students a history of the fire service and learn about the fundamentals in fire behavior, firefighter safety, hose and ladder evolutions, vehicle extrication, wild-land firefighting, structural firefighting, Incident command System (ICS) and obtain certification in first Aid & CPR. Students attend classroom instructions and train on manipulative skills together to learn about teamwork.
